Distributed Power Management is a subset of DRS and has the capability of using vMotion to migrate VMs to fewer hosts during times of low resource utilization, powering-off the surplus hosts automatically.

DPM leverages IPMI interfaces to power-off unneeded hosts and then power-on again when needed.
