VLANs

Virtual LAN (VLAN) is any Broadcast Domain which has been segmented from other networks by the addition of a 4-byte 802.1Q Tag to the Ethernet Frame Header. VLANS are considered highly secure because, when properly implemented, the 802.1Q Tag is stripped prior to delivering the Frame to the end-user.
